By “traditional”, I mean developed-in-the-year-2000-why-is-our-industry-still-using-17-year-old-technology traditional. I wish I could tell you that there’s an easy fix or a mere change in settings when you export your project from your favorite SCORM authoring tool. Some SCORM authoring tools promise to do just that.

In this post I am not going to talk about open source learning management systems such as eFront [1] but rather dedicated open source "authoring tools".

Currently, someone can be a 4 th edition adopter but * not* certified. [3]. Sign #3: ADL itself heavily supports Tin Can as the successor of SCORM.[4]. Now, with the introduction of Tin Can API it seems certain that its adoption rate will decline even further. Low adoption. Technology shift. On not being pragmatic.
