A screencast is a digital video recording of your computer screen and usually includes audio narration. Think of your apps, websites, IMs, emails, and everything that makes up your digital world. Give students audio-visual feedback (the next best thing to a 1:1 conversation). This will allow you to easily edit video and audio.

In the context of e-Learning (back then it was just plain old CBT), this meant you had audio/video on the screen with timed text bullets. The learner could listen to the audio if her preferred style was auditory, OR read the text if her preferred style was visual. Im with you. I always tune out the audio and read ahead.

When I present the concept, I talk about sorting a mug full of pens and pencils. You can sort it pens, markers, pencils. Regardless, youre still working with the same set of pens, and the fat red marker has individual attributes, but some commonalities with markers, red and fat items. You can sort it red, black, blue and other.

Im not a techie -- far from it. Im an instructional designer with an emphasis on writing and schmoozing. Google Alerts A nice adjunct to Google Reader; Im always discovering something new via my "instructional design" alert. 10) Paper Call me old school, but I still like to take notes with pen and paper.

Marginal annotations, which abounded in the centuries when readers usually went through books with pen in hand, identify the often surprising messages that individuals have found as they read. Then I realized Im a constant notetaker, in the pen-and-paper sense. Thats one way for me to process the information Im seeing/hearing, and the same may be true for at least some live bloggers. The latter is slowly gaining speed, which is an advantage to LMS vendors who have a CAT in their own product – which is SCORM,PENS/IMS compliant. Screen capture, audio editing. Heck, they are lucky if they have audio cards connected to their computers or even are using Windows 2007. . Still in the infant stage.
