CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. It had something to do with ILT. CBT (Computer-Based Training).

From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is. Sorry to disappoint – but it won’t. . that needed a system. Oh, and a huge chunk stinks.

That said, there were some hiccups and from an entire vendor wise (expo here) angle, some unique and some, uh. I can honestly say, the ATD show is changing from ILT driven (it has always been that way) to e-learning improvement. I see way too many vendors think a web site is all they need and people will find them.

The minus: vendors come out of the woodwork to tell you their system meets those needs. No vendor could say honestly that their system is the best for you, because they are missing a lot of information. Write vendors’ names on pencils and throw them at the ceiling. Whichever sticks – is your vendor.

A press release from an LMS vendor that stated something not so accurate, but accurate enough. What irked my brain on a recent press release was that the vendor announced they would have over 12,000 courses from Linkedin Learning (it is the Lynda.com courses/content) in their (the vendor’s) system. . Then, it happened.
