It will be interesting to see how the acquisition of EdCast by Cornerstone plays out, in terms of where EdCast will fall into – i.e. stay TXP or something else. Then there are those who won’t tell you, but simply decline or ignore your RFP. Although EdCast will equally note they are an LXP. Personally, I don’t get it.

You can barely read the information – no worry, it is data visualization if your idea of data visualization is 2000 or Excel 1996. But why praytell, when you have coaches/mentors in your system, does that information you clearly present not at play? The administration side is becoming a blur too. Pie charts? Bar Graphs?

In the e-mail, the vendor’s salesperson information is included, and notice that they will follow up in a week to see how everything is going, answer any questions, etc. . Now what consumers dislike is the fill out information and then we the vendor contact you quickly and pester you. Increasing the percentages towards a buy.

Once you identify your LMS potentials, you can create a RFP or RFI with specific details you need and additional information on the company, etc. You identify the date you need them back by, who to contact at your company – which is you – for additional questions, and how they are to send back the RFP/RFI.

A good vendor will take that information and apply it to your demo (you want one), inquire for additional questions if needed – after they have had time to review it – post-call; and most importantly as a cornerstone to your pricing. But, for others, that information turns into a pumpkin and its not even midnight.

Cornerstone and SumTotal already note they have a content-first strategy, and just in the past few weeks, even more, vendors are adding this to their repertoire. The people who do this, claim to acquire the information quicker. Curtailing the accept every RFP that comes to them. Some are doing this with podcasts too.
