Enterprise Learning Systems – How I love thee?

eLearning 24-7

A classroom for ILT. Today, very few vendors offer this depth. Ditto on the 3rd party content, including one vendor who figured out how to create a video with bookmarks and chapters that streamed without issue on a 56K modem.  Vendors expect use cases. The challenge hits on what the vendor considers Enterprise to mean.

Did you know? Learning Systems Vol 3

eLearning 24-7

A vendor says “elearning course” ignoring that it really has a hyphen between the e and the l. I never understood why a vendor does this. Why can’t a vendor simply say video? A lot of vendors will list the publisher of the content, as if some learner says, “Holy Moly – you have IT skills?

eLearning 24-7

Vendors saying “have you looked at XYZ” (which is their system). plus all the vendors will be found in FindAnLMS), I do have systems I can recommend based on various criteria. Yet, as I have often noted, it is rarely pushed upon in an RFP, let alone a demo. And I ask it often when talking to vendors.

Step right up to the LMS Sideshow

eLearning 24-7

A ct 1 - A good LMS is one that costs a lot of money. Because I’m ripping you off, just like those systems that tell you it will cost 750 thousand dollars for 1000 users. Act 2 – Select only a vendor who is well known (name recognized). So, come on in, and find a seat, plenty of room for the show is about to begin.
