I think Im somewhat of an anomaly in the field. I dont do any programming. Maybe Im not an instructional designer at all. Maybe Im not an instructional designer at all. Rapid e-Learning tools make building courses almost as easy as writing documents in Word. I dont build courses. Easy breezy.

I started off cutting and pasting a lot of documents from Word into the wiki. Im a Word power-user and love all the little tricks and shortcuts. All of my project information is in one place. I dont have to open 800 documents. My sense is, theyll learn a lot and come into that meeting with great ideas. I miss them.

Now I see that you can publish a Google Doc right to my blog, so Im going to try that now. It appears to just title your document with the first few lines of text. Not sure if it gives me any advantages over writing a blog entry in Blogger. Any one done that? When, where and why? I dont see in Google Docs a way to do this.

The document is sent out to everyone, then the whole team gathers in a conference call and walks through the story board together. Ideally, the team has reviewed the document beforehand and has all of their comments, but more often than not, this is their first look at it. Oh, except Im the developer and audio engineer too.

Other benefits of working with two monitors: 1) Have a source document open on one screen and be writing a proposal/storyboard/script on the other. Back to the Google Desktop -- Im playing around a bit with the searching capabilities and am seeing the light. So the search feature -- I get that and Im sold. Very useful feature.
