Twitter has APIs, so does Facebook, even Linkedin. However there are vendors who sell their API solution wrapped in a piece of software. Here is just a few of ones I like, that are unique and you could use in your LMS/LCMS/CMS, Learning Portal (caveat: your vendor must be able to accept APIs, otherwise it won’t work).

More of a surprise is that with the exception of 6 web conferencing vendors, who have apps specifically for the iPad/iPad2 market, you can count on one hand the number of LMS/LCMS vendors that offer the same thing. AR offers amazing capabilities in e-learning, not just courses, but from a LMS/LCMS/learning platform as a whole.

The LMS/LCMS/Learning Portal market continues to be strong. In my latest directory, 393 LMS vendors – global, of which 34 or so are open source systems. Folding up shop and switching to a new market: Talent/Performance Management, new product lines not tied to e-learning, services. It was a myth.
