Recently, I conducted an emerging technology survey related to e-learning and the results show that end users are utilizing technology more then ever before and are seeking product features that LMS and content authoring tools, do not offer at this current time. Every month, I will providing an emerging technology that I believe will be a game changer in the e-learning industry. I call it ELGC (E-learning game changer). and YouTube (beta) are already offering videos in HTML5 players. One that you definitely cannot see is YouTube’s HTML5 beta player.

Many have excellent solutions and features that can match anyone and in some cases surpass the larger players. Many are less expensive, yet do not have less features – they see real value with emerging technology and social learning/social media. E-Learning 24/7. The small dogs. Can they be awful?

What always stuns me are vendors who state they know what their learners want, but in reality have no clue, because they themselves do not see the technology and its usage among the masses. Feature set is rich – think of the possibilities, even with a learning management or learning portal system. Bottom Line.

Non-Java player for HTML5 courses and thus viewable on tablets. For a company that understands and utilizes emerging technology, the lack of really a nice set of social learning/social media functionality is baffling. GeoMaestro has a built in HTML5 player, that is non-java based player is in the system.

The industry as a whole, always has been one step behind, as if there is general fear to harnass the technology now, rather than later. They weren’t using the technology, so it tanked. Thankfully there is a technology that exists today, that can change that. It is understandable.sort of. It was revoluntary. Gaming Time.
