I saw a lot more folks than in previous shows and more e-learning vendors too. Equally there were several ILT vendors who had some type of online learning thing going on. Seminars in general – As with any show, there was good seminars, average and downright awful. Some of the seminars.

Heck, you could be an e-learning company who provides online learning to your customers. . Charge for webinars – The days of a hybrid model where you did ILT (seminars) and did some webinars (via web conferencing) are gone. They can integrate with any learning system out there. Go this route).

Each time I attend there are a lot of decision makers rumbling around seeking out vendors, wanting to start communication and scheduling demos, meetings, etc. Sure there were some LMS vendors there, but sheesh, there should have been a lot more. For people who are working on certification, does your system provide e-mail reminders to end users whose certification is near expiration and thus they need to go into the system and complete it? What about e-mail reminders for the following (time frame) to renew? Where do the seminars, etc. Where do the seminars, etc.

Studies have shown that on the average a person retains 8-10% from an ILT class/seminar/workshop. If you had the ability to go into a course as often as you want, as many as times as you want, to learn and re-learn the information, your retention will increase – thus E-Learning is in the 90% rate.

In other words, if you want to have 3 seminars going on at 9 a.m. Typically with licenses - a lot of vendors do not enable you to have the multiple rooms at the same time – i.e. the multiple seminars going on at the same time offer. After all, it is a seminar but online. E-Learning 24/7.

15 Seminar Learning System . A great example of someone who doesn’t do a lot of advertising, is under the radar, inexpensive but still provides enough to be effective. I do wish they offered more robust analytics for perf. Despite some sales hiccups, this is a wonderful product.

Part of course creation is to provide your course a name and a description. The only time I have in 12 yrs of e-learning seen a person’s name and e-mail address on a course was in an Instructor led training class – in a classroom, seminar or workshop. At a workshop or seminar? A nice feature.

Vendors nowadays provide training early on after you get the product, and then assume that the person will remember everything weeks later. When you attended a seminar or some type of instructor led training, how many of you have gone up afterwards to complain to the instructor about whatever? Most people don’t.

Scheduling simplicity – it shouldn’t take someone with a doctorate in genetics to figure out how to sign up for a seminar or whatever.
