If Jing could upload images to Screencast, then Snagit should be able to as well. But the open source projects do have some things in common: Michael Mays, Software Test Specialist. Once people could add interactivity to Camtasia Studio videos in the form of hotspots , the Screencast team got a request for hotspot playback.

Instead of creating multiple Jing videos—once I have replicated a bug—I can create one Camtasia recording of my tests, and edit that video to share highlights with developers. While Jing has been my go-to option for quickly responding to questions, Camtasia does seem to offer more polish.

We've used Jing many times to produce CMS training tutorials for our clients. Andrea Poole is a customer content specialist at TechSmith. The goal will be to use it for not only training, but for many other forms of communication. I could see using this technology for things like web content development and community outreach.
