I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

One competitor purchased a VLP as a key component, SAP purchased SuccessFactors, a recruiting system initially turned HCM, who had acquired Plateau, a strong but awful UI/UX LMS. SuccessFactors constantly stated they would invest heavily into Plateau and initially, vast improvement was to be found. Micro-learning.

But, as Kristina Smith , owner of Imagine You Media, points out, if the purpose has a marketing component—if it needs to look polished in order to maintain the company image, for example, then a quickly produced video with low production values might work against the broader business purpose. SuccessFactors – Just for those folks to remember, SF is owned by SAP and had acquired Plateau. They haven’t been Plateau for a few years, so stop calling them Plateau – a pet peeve of mine. And BTW, nearly every LMS can interface with Oracle products. SF is underwhelming in my book. But wasn’t.

Students are on Facebook and Twitter with faculty and have discussions about how to use social media for learning within organizations. (this happens for online and on campus students).
