Product Review: Saba Social

I admit that in general I have been underwhelmed in the past with Saba. So, when I went and checked out Saba Social, Saba’s new social learning platform, I had very low expectations. Over 25 different social media types and Saba Social sticks with the ones everyone always sees – WHY? I was surprised.

Vegas and The Learning Conference Scene

I jotted down my notes, took some photos (you will see some), recorded a short video or two of presentations of interest, and asked attendees – customers of Cornerstone their thoughts of the show and what they saw. I met one attendee who has Saba Cloud and EdCast, so its doable. Last Thoughts.

Oh, I should add that this capability from the learner side would include images, photos and files. Mobile app with ability to record video, capture images, photos. Of course, the administrator can turn on or off these features. I see just a few vendors enabling this capability with on/off synch for the LMS.

Where each and every one of us who attends the show, can walk, view, photo or video, each booth. While I place Saba in the average spot, I do think Learning@Work is heading in the right direction (cloud based platform). . Well, not yet, but it is coming up and with that are all those wonderful vendors and that magical expo.

Saba tells me that the “we show everything” in the demo is standard practice, to show what is possible (an ecosystem angle with HCM).
