PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. More vendors seem interested in PPT, then having this as a spec in their product. Works on Mac. I hope it does – especially with SaaS products.

11 desktop authoring tools work with Mac OS. iSpring Pro but it only converts PPT to HTML5. I’m not sure if it is going to take a predication by the late Edgar Cayce or Nostradamus to see the need to have native apps for people to download with the numerous m-learning, Mac store or Windows 8. 2013, 100,000 apps.

Audacity One of the most popular free tools is Audacity, which is available for download for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, in a variety of languages. I need to record simple voice-only audio. To go with my text-and-graphic or activity slides. At little to no cost.
