Shelly Blake-Plock announced last night via LinkedIn that he would be leading a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for IEEE LTSC (Learning Technologies Standards Committee). IEEE stamping xAPI would encourage adoption, particularly outside of the US. He’s pretty well informed. rather than evolution.

We were shocked to see how many people joined Chris Tompkins and Brian Miller on “Our IEEE LTSC voting members recap 2023 and what’s next for the standards” webinar last week. The Rustici Software team regularly contributes to the evolution of the standards through involvement with the IEEE, ADL and 1EdTech eLearning standards groups.

Part of the problem though is that there is a lot of information out there, some of it erroneous in nature and honestly, equally confusing. In 2003, the eLearning startup I worked for shuttered its doors as our customers moved to adopt SCORM, and we had no idea how to do that. I was told xAPI is in IEEE’s hands?
