For example, we see terms now at the top like Learning Management System , AICC , SCORM. Take a look at the companies: Saba (28) GeoLearning (17) SumTotal (22) Meridian (9) Cornerstone (19) You notice the counts are out of order (not descending). Seems so long ago. :) How about 2005 ?

In 2002, a company created video courses that were AICC compliant and could be bookmarked. GeoLearning. The industry as a whole, always has been one step behind, as if there is general fear to harnass the technology now, rather than later. It is understandable.sort of. It was revoluntary. The added bonus was it looked solid on a modem.

In 2005, PENS was launched by AICC but did not initially gain wide acceptance. After getting my PhD in Educational/Counseling psychology I went to work for a small startup, GeoLearning. I mean look at how long AICC has managed to keep a foothold, despite even the recent disbanding of the formal group.
