open source software options: Audacity. Mixer–no open source ones out there, but Audacity does a lot. At the other end of the spectrum, you can use a headset mic and Audacity. Audacity has its own tutorials, including video. Save as Movie. Most people at their university use media players, not iPods.

There are a wide variety of Audio and Video editing tools available, so it’s a good idea to be familiar with the more popular ones like Audacity , Adobe Soundbooth , and SoundForge for Audio.
