I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. What does it all mean? Early Signs for 2012. It isn’t.

As the rapid content authoring market continues to grow, new features and capabilities are equally growing. There are 124 authoring tools in my latest directory, of which 30 are SaaS or a combination of desktop and SaaS – which really what is the point of that? SaaS: Software is in the cloud, on the internet.

I wasn’t thunderstruck, but what I was surprised at was the number of folks who had or were about to purchase the well known authoring tools in the market, Articulate, Captive and Lectora. When people think authoring tools, three products typically come to mind. The king of authoring tools.

As the evolution of e-learning continues, the rapid content authoring tools (RCAT) market follows suit. This is a growing market with new vendors showing up, but at the same time, others disappearing. It was difficult to say the least and learning it wasn’t much easier. Simulations only.

is not the only product which has an issue with a 64 bit Windows computer but in combination with PPT 2010, I’m unaware of any other. Spelling – I am always surprised at the number of authoring tools who do not have this feature. who knows, I never got to see it). Great question and no answer. Lectora’s Snap!
