Someone came up with the idea of a LMS. Someone came up with the term LMS – albeit Jay Cross (RIP) is said to be that person; however, this is debatable. I was using DazzlerMax and Authorware, which are superior offerings for creating courses. Ahead of it’s time, actually, especially since they started out as a LMS.

Over the last ten years or so, major elearning developers have preferred to use tools like Flash, Authorware and Director from Adobe (earlier Macromedia). Standard compliance and course delivery ELearning content is typically hosted and delivered through various Learning Management Systems.

Honestly, I wish they would do more with their “online” version, in comparison but they have not. For the former, you can definitely create courses and if you want to maximize it, then expect a bit of time to achieve it – and learn it. #19 Will it replicate those craving for an Authorware return? New Slide – Create a new page, chapter, lesson, whatever, generally speaking Slide screams PPT and no offense to the person who has been doing ID for x number of years, if you said “slide” to someone working on Authorware back in the day, you would have gotten a head slap. Frustration is setting in at this point.

Anyone who used Authorware can attest to that. Another post I just saw on LinkedIn talked about ID folks who needed to have LMS admin skill sets, as though what the people doing the hiring really wanted was a jack of all trades person, thus saving them money from hiring two people. Articulate Storyline training), etc. . will take.
