The speeds presented were ideal speeds, but I remember, landing 38KBS in Boston, with a 56K modem. The LCMS Learning Content Management System. They started to drop off the map, due to the LMS adding more capabilities that an LCMS could do. It was challenging to learn, but a great product. let alone 56K modem? Sure folks.

Established Product vs. Disruptive Change Companies get worried and make "strategic changes" in their product -- add a new feature -- this is whats happened with established e-learning companies. LCMS is in decline -- because the learning object model doesnt really work. AT&T gave back computer networking after a 6 month trial.

Why do companies continue to pay huge dollars for products that are now being offered for free? Moodle and other open source products have huge communities behind them.
