Majority of employees access a LMS or Learning Portal out of the workplace. Now, why doesn’t a vendor mention this information to a potential client, at least the first point – I can understand holding off on the second point, for selling purposes. Oh, yeah, social learning. Yes, I love consumer slate tablets.

Interestingly, a large portion of LMS vendors have not optimized their products for the iPad/ iPad2 and with the exception of two content authoring tools, HTML5 capabilities, specifically the ability to output a course in HTML5 does not yet exist.

I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. E-commerce is standard, multi-tenet off the main system, with each distributor/wholesaler/reseller/sales agent, etc. The product is Flash based, which is nice, but lack of mobile optimization for the iPad. Social Learning is limited. These standout to me.

Apparently, the potential customers and even clients are speaking and those vendors are listening. Not just a few vendors, the industry as a whole. Some, still are not listening, but no surprise there, arrogance doesn’t change over night. Change though is happening and for all of us, that is a great thing.
