Im already feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Personally, I dont like to hide things from learners and play guessing games, so I am an advocate of letting the learner know, up front, what they will be expected to do at the conclusion of the course, lesson, or whatever. Belatedly, Im thinking that there are relatively easy ways to enable learners to have cake or to eat it as they see fit.

We created three or four mini-games scattered throughout the course to test concepts. For design inspiration, I took a few pages out of Karl Kapps book Gadgets, Games and Gizmos for Learning. By that I mean you cant just smear "fun" on and make training better, as if its some kind of cognitive Clearasil. The juries still out.
