In the eLearning Guild’s 2009 white paper, “Building the Business Case for e-Learning” Temple Smolen writes, “In an April 2009 survey of eLearning Guild members, 48% reported a positive return on investment (ROI) from e-Learning, while only 5% reported no return or a negative ROI. Or how about determining if the investment we’ve made in elearning really paid off more than offering the same content in a face-to-face format?
In fact, not only do most members generate a positive return, but 50% report a ROI greater than 15%.”

Our team uses a wiki to document our design and development processes, something I wrote about in a short column for the eLearning Guild’s Learning Solutions magazine. Tags: Wikis documentation eLearning Guild Learning Solutions wiki xtranorma This weekend I was imagining a conversation between two people about the benefits of a wiki. This overlaps quite a bit with the reasons in my article, but it’s a more fun presentation with Xtranormal .

The schedule for the first day of the online conference. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to present at the eLearning Guild's "Designing and Managing Learning in 3-D Virtual Worlds and Immersive Environments" for the opening general session of the online conference. The content was mostly taken from the upcoming book Tony O'Driscoll and I are writing called Learning in 3D . While the presentation below is not the same one I gave for the Guild, it does have many of the same concepts and ideas. Why3 D2 Penn State Presentation View more presentations

In my last post on Flash Quiz Tools , I mentioned how I had used the eLearning Guild Research to streamline my effort of find the right tools. This post is probably long overdue, but the use of the data from the guild has been a really great resource and has lead to posts such as: Flash Quiz Tools LMS Satisfaction Features and Barriers Course Authoring and Rapid eLearning Tool Satisfaction Software Simulation eLearning (w/ links to Tools) LMS Team Size and Time I personally get the most value by having direct data access to the reports.
