DevLearn 2022 – Rewind

To say nothing exciting happened at DevLearn is to say, that the Mirage hotel, is still a great hotel, and the idea that some company plans to refurb it or rebuild it into something else is unheard of. On the plus side, or I hope not, DevLearn won’t be there in 2023 because a gutted hotel is not a place to have a show.

This has always been a challenge with various vendors, especially today, where turnkey (out of the box) is the standard, a few tweaks included, and thus implementation times are very short (a plus). I’m not completely sure what to think about this year’s Learning Solutions conference, for us as a vendor it was a good show, a lot of interest in easygenerator and our free edition , and a nice bunch of solid leads and I was able to do some great networking. I definitely will be here next year again (and I will go the Mlearn and Devlearn).

The LMS – Let’s Set The Record Straight

Docebo, an LMS, scores around 62%. Nor at DevLearn. In my upcoming NexGen Leader Pack (coming in late July), the majority are LMS vendors. The first vendor to have geolocation in their mobile app? LMS vendor. Higher than Degreed, the original LXP. Higher than EdCast. Cornerstone, BTW is around 90%. Both are LMSs.

Authoring Tool Trends

I would often dig through the box just to score all the marshmallows and then leave the box with the crummy stuff left behind for my siblings. That said, it is utilized in the following ways: Video streaming – off the vendor’s servers (not yours). I loved Lucky Charms cereal. Not the cereal per se, but the marshmallows.

Trade Show Wars

The second segment is for vendors – including insight from fellow vendors on various trade shows. Observe who is on the path from the door right down the middle – these are often the vendors who paid the most money, especially at the entry points along each pathway, except for the farthest right and left.
