I’m not saying that e-learning vendors who follow the “trial” and give us your credit card mantra are following this approach nor are they doing so in a nefarious way, I’m just giving you some insight in how companies that use this approach, see value in it. Just a guess here! Just being honest here.

However, there are vendors who will openly tell you (which I appreciate) that they have a minimum user base size, and that you do not qualify. Then there are those who won’t tell you, but simply decline or ignore your RFP. Q: I read on LinkedIn that you have a new solution called content hub, what is it and where can I find it?

Now, if it is a vendor you just dislike, this is not an ideal option, but look, I hate people ringing my doorbell, and so I let my dogs do the barking, err talking. Let’s say you are about to sign a contract with a learning system vendor or even an e-learning vendor with another product.

Do they have any reports dedicated for the e-commerce functionality? As you can see, just saying e-commerce is not enough. Drilling down, will provide you with additional information you need to ask and know, and as a result, even when looking at a potential vendor’s site, you will be able to see what they offer in this area.
