Prodigy (the first portal, pre-CompuServe and AOL -for home use), modem was 4800 bytes. You might have chat rooms (my system, the one I initially built, and then the one I purchased – GeoLearning), forums, discussion boards, a library (mine did, including checkout capabilities), even classrooms (the appearance of them, I never used it).

SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle and HRIS systems; thus if you have one of those systems you are now open to a greater number of vendors, rather then staying with your ERP or HRIS provider.
