These organizations have been developing Flash content for education since Macromedia offered Flash 1.0 In a former life as a product of FutureWave Software, Flash was known as SmartSketch, graphics editor pen computing on the Mac. In 1996, Macromedia bought FutureSplash and renamed it Flash.

Macromedia Authorware and similar products. Macromedia Director. The Macromedia set typically would toss in Director, which created an equally impressive array of course capabilities, but a deep learning curve. Eventually, Macromedia Dreamweaver came into the picture. Does not output to any interoperability standard.
