Help! What software tool should I use to record audio?

To go with my PPT slides. It features multi-track editing (so you can put music or sound effects behind your voice track) and a wide range of features. Keep in mind that higher-end tools are often geared to complexity and demands of music production. Use whatever works best for you. I need to record simple voice-only audio.
