As of mid 2012, 58 million people used Mac OS as their primary OS. In the first four days of the latest version (July 25, 2012) of MAC OS, Apple sold 3 million units. In October 2012, Apple claimed that one in five laptops/desktops sold in the U.S. Some numbers to ponder. Mac OS market share is 7.1% But seriously.

E-Learning has been minimal. However, this clearly had changed in 2012. I would estimate that there was a 60-40 split, still instructor led driven, but even a significant number of the ILT vendors were offering subsets or capabilities to turn their ILT into online via webinars or online courses. I mean you may look at their web site (vendor) or you may not. I still see 20-30 even 40 page RFPs that are sent to vendors. Overwhelmingly we provide some sort of training or learning to our employees or our customers. . Did the insurance company’s lead tell the vendor what they were using?

Web sites yes. When you need a fix, then the LMS vendor must work with you either remote to solve it or if it is big nasty fix, go on site. Systems have come a long way from the days of yesteryear. Security is quite strong for SaaS systems. Typically it is a faster fix than on your own servers.
