My current business card says Im a "Manager of Instructional Design". Got accepted to a Masters program for secondary ed, but deferred. I was never told about Gagnes 9 Events or the Kilpatrick Levels or ADDIE or the ARCS model or even much about adult learning styles, except that people all learned differently. Whats your story?

Im not just thinking about the gadgets and the gizmos that you use or the instructional design "method" behind the process (e.g., ADDIE), but rather the teaching tools themselves. Im excellent at creating ridiculous rhymes and ditties for my kids; I think I could come up with something interesting for a course. Most excellent.

Im a practical person at heart; not a theory-based one). The reason Im so keen on the idea of PLEs (not as a system, but as a set of tools and skills) is that I think it puts power back into peoples hands, rather than leaving them at the mercy of organizations who dont really have their best interests in mind.
