Not many people know this but it is very useful if you intend to facilitate a week online before a meeting or workshop. The better-known paid webinar tools are GoToMeeting, Webex and Adobe Connect. Yammer is spontaneous, but experienced as chaotic and fast. to make it very practical.

Most web conferencing software is set up for one-way lectures. I’m more into conversations. Most presenters I’ve watched never go beyond the default settings.

If you’ve got a choice, if you know you’re coworking with people, lots of time, I would use something like Adobe Connect. I do many live workshops, I do many virtual workshops and the differences between the two are negligible. If you’ve got whatever platform, great, you’ll make it work.
