Assessment Tools – SaaS is the way to go, and the ones in the market, are either very basic, or they can do the basics and go far beyond to extensive assessment feature sets.

Have everything clearly defined – with deadlines to complete the work or specific requirements that the individual must do to get to the next step – the final assessment. Some certification programs do a mix of project work (individual projects) and a final assessment, some just do the project options, find what works for you. .

I still hear folks who mention they are considering Oracle for learning. Majority of learning systems out there, at least in LMS space, can integrate quite nicely with Oracle. A couple of weeks ago, a vendor in the micro-learning content space sent me a newsletter, where – wait for it. And the winner is.

Yes they offer some features for free, but the paid version looks exactly like any other social learning system that uses the FB like page. I had a great conversation with them and after their pitch, explained in detail that this many systems do the same thing, if not a tad more then they do. Nothing that blew me away.
