So I saw a twitter thread pointing to an argument about how ROI is dead. So, in the report, they indicated that the respondents indicated the demonstrated impact of training in these ways: General training output data. Training output data aligned with corporate initiatives. Learner satisfaction with training.

I'm working on an article around the use of ROI and metrics in eLearning. This level of evaluation will increase the visibility of learning and development efforts, because successful implementation of Level 3 evaluation Internet Time Blog: ROI is toast. ROI is toast. I said in my last post that Kirkpatrick’s four levels were all about the training itself rather than how the training affects organizations. Then we need to identify specific metrics to demonstrate and deliver on those expectations. He suggests evaluation checks throughout the training?skill

We should! ~@ dwilkinsnh #ISPI #ASTD GenY has a tribe. What is the philosophy in your Enterprise about using ROI, ROA, EVA, etc.? What business metrics are the most important? When you suggest/ask the Enterprise for funds for Training - do you look at both First and Life Cycle costs in the ROI forecast?

That’s a good question, especially in this economy because the training group is usually one of the first groups targeted when an organization needs to make some cuts to the budget. For the organization looking to make cuts and still offer training, elearning is a viable option because it can reduce costs. E-Learning is Hot.
