Now I cant gripe about the audio recordings because usually there is some value-add in that chain - some company has recorded the sessions and made them available, maybe cleaned them up a bit even but selling the papers? But thats OK because Im sure you all (all conferences that do this) share some of these revenues with the authors right?

If we’ve decided that we just need to present some information, it’s likely more efficient to use other media, leaving us time and money to put our elearning tools to their best uses. I did just buy a Samson USB Mic and that has really improved the quality of the audio compared the mic I was using before. Technorati.

Last year, we held a webinar that consisted of a 15 minute conversation starter followed by opening the audio for people to speak freely and make comments or ask our facilitator any question they wanted. The point was to make the next 45 minutes a free-flowing discussion capable of going in any direction the audience desired.
