Adobe Captivate is one of the best authoring tools available to eLearning professionals. To Start, click on the “Reporting” option located under the “Quiz” header (see the screenshot below). At the top of the Preferences box, you’ ll see a checkbox for “Quiz, Enable reporting for this project”.

Flash is the most popular output type, so it’s likely that your courses are SWF Flash-based. SWF courses do not work on certain devices; Apple devices. Some authoring tool effects do not work with HTML. Don’t create any more course content that is Flash SWF based. Investigate HTML5 first authoring tools.

Any time we go to create a new course, we pull this common cptx from our controlled documents library, paste in our new slides, author the simulations, etc., Within the Quiz Settings, if you click Configure the Manifest dialog is displayed. and then publish the file. (We We create solely software simulations.)

It has gotten to a point where some of my courses are all developed in Flash and the e-learning authoring tools (DHTML) have been used more as a "shell" that decompiles it as a SCORM package. So, do I really need to continue using these authoring tools? No, I can skip the middle man and produce entire courses in Flash.

Whenever a comparison of eLearning authoring tools is published, Captivate still is considered to be the best tool for creation of software tutorials. Sorry for my cynical attitude, had many discussions with authors over that type of articles. I think about merging with 360 slides, real quiz slides, adding links to other assets etc.
