I have no idea if/how this ties to training standards, but it may be the case that elements of eLearning 2.0 When CBT (CD-ROM based multimedia training) came out, there were a lot of different authoring tools and approaches that came along with it.

As I went through the program I later learned Authorware and Director.but all on the PC. As Steve Jobs leaves Apple as the CEO, I can't help but wonder how many INSANELY GREAT ideas and products have been created because of the beauty and brilliance of Macintosh. Again, a huge let down. Thank you Steve Jobs!

I saw three of the interviews: Michael Allen (creator of Authorware and of ADDIE - the instructional design process): he told us that he's no longer so convinced about ADDIE - he's into rapid prototyping.

Mention colloboration and all these amazing ideas pop into your head, yet go into any system, and collaboration is often via a discussion board, forum, chat room – in other words text. E-Learning developer skills not needed. Let alone engaging.

Someone did the instructional design, someone else worked on graphics, and then we had a programmer who built the courses in Authorware or some other application. This lets you practice ideas on a small scale and document your skills. When I first started with elearning we’d have a team of people working on projects.

You have no idea. New Slide – Create a new page, chapter, lesson, whatever, generally speaking Slide screams PPT and no offense to the person who has been doing ID for x number of years, if you said “slide” to someone working on Authorware back in the day, you would have gotten a head slap. Then I used it.

Anyone who used Authorware can attest to that. It reminded me of other postings for other job roles, where a hiring manager had no idea on what is needed and so they just winged it. . Anyway, joy was not there, because it required double the work. Dazzler Max wasn’t any easier, although once you figured it out, different story.
