Even though the iPad disappoints in its current version, I are sure this will change with future versions of iPad itself and various other tablets. Dr. Michael Allen (creator of Authorware) is working on a new tool called Zebra (which he talks about here ) that would make engaging eLearning creation easy with drag and drop objects.

Michael was, of course, the creator of Authorware, a highly powerful tool from the CD-ROM era, which Adobe eventually gave up on after they inherited it from Macromedia. Similar to the one I had for an LMS, here is the Authoring Tool version for 2017. With some mobile responsive, the smushed version is what you see. . You need to update, you can in real time (although I recommend that the update is offline in the LMS, until the admin is ready to update the “live” version). .

Screams more like an advanced sequel to Studio than a robust new version of Storyline 2. In this new version of Storyline 2, not needed. I kid you not. Then I used it.

I was a very early user of Authorware , Director , and of course, FLASH. And a new version of Director quite possibly could be positioned as a game changer in the spirit of the iPhone. I can't remember how it happened but I became mostly connected with Director. I truly loved the tool and used it whenever I could.

Listen, Authorware is dead, so why create a product that is trying to bring it back to life with your own product? The Kindle Fire, Barnes and Noble’s version are still heavy e-book driven. Macromedia Authorware and similar products. While some could argue that Authorware was a RCAT, I disagree. LMS vendor does not have to re-build the wheel, they cut development time and cost and any updates, new versions, etc. Macromedia Director. HTML and Javascript. That was pretty much it. RCAT’s were non-existent.

At the Adobe Learning Summit in San Jose, November 10th, Adobe showed several exciting new features from the next version of Captivate and from the up-coming eLearning Suite. At the Adobe Learning Summit, Adobe demonstrated the next version of Captivate, and also previewed the new Adobe eLearning Suite. No word in when at this point.
