I’m not sure if it is going to take a predication by the late Edgar Cayce or Nostradamus to see the need to have native apps for people to download with the numerous m-learning, Mac store or Windows 8. Of those, it was extremely rare to find vendors who publicly offered this option.

But, the reason I constantly bash this into e-learning vendors heads is this just DON’T GET IT. When a vendor decided to add mediawiki to their LMS, so it looks exactly like Wikipedia, while everyone else uses some funky looking wiki.what happened? Integrated e-mail. E-Learning 24/7.

I have seen continued interest and downloads for open source AR tool kits. Augmented reality opens those doors. If you are still a huge fan of ILT or believe a blended learning approach is necessary, why stick only to PowerPoint, handouts and long talks? Even one time open source systems are starting to offer hosting for an additional cost. The exceptions are there of course: Moodle and a few others, but people are moving more and more into the cloud. For vendors who offer unlimited, I am sure it is doing well for you and is a big positive for you.

Yes, it simplifies some things because you can build your courses within the system and then save it to use the course. But it is a rapid e-learning authoring tool stripped down, nothing more. If I decide to buy an off the shelf rapid e-learning authoring tool (example: Articulate), buy it from the LMS vendor.

Everything is turned on in your demo, but the vendor fails to mention during its presentation that some of that functionality is not included in the product you are looking at.
