I first thought this to be a limitation of HTML5 (first article was for SWF output) and tested it out. The demo file has two TEB’s on the second slide. On the last slide of the file you will see a Shape (rounded rectangle) which I converted to a Shape button. This is the link to the forum thread.

However to record a Video Demo or a Software simulation you did have to edit the AdobeCaptivate.ini file. This short example has two slides: First slide shows a countdown animation and a progress bar. That slide is using the new While loop. Some are mentioned in the documentation, some not. Now, you can choose to record a Demo (Watch), Training (Try) or Assessment (Do) simulation. The Preview option lets you play just one slide, the next five slides, a part of your project, or the entire project. You can either publish to the SWF and HTML formats together, or publish them individually.

Speaking of the guru awards, I was looking at the source files for the CPR demo and was impressed to see that it only contained twenty PowerPoint slides. Looking at it, I assumed that it had more slides and a few more bells and whistles. Gone are the days of changing individual objects on each slide. Layer control.

When you choose the ‘ Automatic Recording ’ option, Captivate captures screenshots automatically and presents them on different slides. There are four modes in Recording – Demo, Assessment, Training, and Custom. Demo Mode: If you want to demonstrate a procedure or feature, you can select the Demonstration mode.

As the developer clicks on each comment in turn, Captivate automatically navigates to the correct slide and the correct moment in the slide so that the developer can immediately see exactly what the tester could see and does not have to spend time searching for it.
