Nowadays I think that the gig is up, and everyone realizes the scam. Vendors use it to refer to online courses/content. Vendors use it to refer to online courses/content. Vendors who use it? However, there are authoring tool vendors, who still think PowerPoint can be an authoring solution. And the list goes on.

I put up a couple of screencasts that show how to use LinkedIn for Finding Expertise and Searching for Expertise - LinkedIn Answers. Was great at DevLearn. This lines up with what I predicted in 2008. I'm not sure I buy what some of the other LMS vendors are providing around social software. I use it a little bit.
