Parents need to be responsible and discuss appropriate social use of the web with their kids, but do schools bear some responsibility for preparing kids for appropriate social learning ?

While I write a couple of public-facing blogs, Internet Time and the Informal Learning Blog , I spend more time participating in group discussions, writing comments, making online presentations, adding descriptions on sites like Flickr, posting to my wiki , and so forth. Re-orientation

One of my colleagues at togetherLearn voiced concern that it was disorienting to have our internal discussions spread over several social platforms, a standalone wiki, a persistent Skype chat, and email.
