Many of you have to convert old Flash courses to HTML5. But adding text from the old course isn’t as easy because most Flash courses don’t allow selecting text to copy and paste. Use OneNote to Convert Text from Image for Flash to HTML5 Courses. Watch the tutorial on YouTube. I hope that helps.

I’ve been playing around with ideas to get old Flash course content into a new HTML5 course. There are tens of thousands of old Flash-based e-learning courses where people no longer have the source files. All they have are published versions of the course and need to convert to HTML5. Adobe Flash, a browser plugin that delivers content such as videos and interactive elements, is being phased out by the industry and replaced by HTML5, a more modern way to view this same content without requiring the use of a plugin. If you see a green check mark (see below), that means Flash is already good to go!

Adobe Flash has been a productive tool for authoring these courses. But, it suffered from the drawback that OS platforms of latest handheld devices don’t extend support for Flash. HTML5 has superseded Flash as a viable option for authoring eLearning courses because it is supported by all smartphones and tablets.

Do I need to download or install anything? No downloads, no plugins. Do Rise courses use Flash? Rise courses do not use flash. They are created solely in HTML5. Where iOS devices weren’t flash compatible, they do love HTML5, so your iPhone and iPad will have no issues with seeing the modules as you intended!
