You can import wav's or mp3's. Personally, I think background music will quickly becomes a distraction (perhaps even an irritant) for your learners, which is why I shy away from it. If you choose Import to , you will be presented with an Import Audio dialog box.

You probably put most of your effort into getting the lighting right , but have you ever thought how much better your learners will enjoy them when there’s some background music to enrich the experience? Your goal is not to evoke emotions but to keep learners focused. Definitely avoid vocals because they will distract learners.

This restriction means that these products cannot be used for eLearning, where sound files are distributed to learners. Most of the time you are creating audio files locally and thus having access to the file system means it will keep files up-to-date. We’ll talk more about this important subject in a future post. eLearning Technology.

Captivate only uses the wav and mp3 file format. Coast Guard and in private industry, Kevin has spent decades as a technical communicator, classroom and online trainer, public speaker, and has written hundreds of computer training books for adult learners.
