CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. You could say for everyone learner or just a group of learners, you could do this for every publisher that the vendor offered. WBT (Web-Based Training).

From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is. I found that of concern, especially when server crashes were constant. that needed a system.

Ok, with that being done, let me list the vendors who are in the final ten and then break it all down for you. Lectora Online – Solid solution. I admit the first time I saw the word, I read it out online as something else. Anyway, the tool is nice and they were the first vendor to have try voice synch with the avatars.

While we regularly write about Articulate, Lectora, and Captivate, we are often asked our opinion about ZebraZapps. I’ve always been hesitant from giving it my full recommendation for one key reason: up until now, your published course resides on their servers. Now your source/authoring files are still in the cloud on their servers.

Nor Lectora. Vendors report seeing anywhere from a dozen questions to more than 500 in some cases. I have yet to see or hear someone’s country not have a server available to them, from those hosted server sites. There are corporate entities (non LMS) that use these same hosting server site. Yes there are vendors doing some new stuff, okay many, but a few items are not new, rather they have been around for a long time. SaaS boost – Finally more vendors are on the appropriate path for their consumers; but the big folks are not – why? There I said it and honestly I can’t believe I said it. Want a stunner?

Bewildered on what is happening, why what is needed isn’t appearing as it should, and how is it possible that something so obvious based on where e-learning is heading, mobile is pushing and future tech is inspiring is lost among so many vendors? And therein lies one of the issues, that is showing up with many, many vendors.
