I personally think what has hurt them in the greater market is the push by so many vendors (some of which are legit competitors) to refer to them as “traditional”, citing how long they have been around. Lectora will note the same, but I never found it to be an RCAT. Anyway, Captivate lost its way. Onto the Show.

I suspect some vendors might tie it together in some pricing approach, giving an appearance that it is free. .
