The initial person who thought buying SumTotal was a great idea (initially it was) and then dumped it for a fortune to Skillsoft (another great idea), which in turn was someone at Skillsoft thinking this was a great idea, which turned out to be false and was a factor in Skillsoft going into bankruptcy due to the albatross known as SumTotal.

The look and feel sort of reminds me of an online magazine. Comes with online/offline synch. SumTotal – Get ready for a new UI for the learning module. Speaking of SumTotal, as you may or may not be aware any of their modules can be purchased as a standalone or any combination. Frustration Factor.

When coined all those decades ago, it was an umbrella term for online learning. Or just call it courses, videos (which they do) and so forth, since you will be viewing it uh, online. Many buyers of Articulate think that Storyline is an online authoring tool, it isn’t. Why not reference it similar as WBT compared to ILT?

Cornerstone and SumTotal already note they have a content-first strategy, and just in the past few weeks, even more, vendors are adding this to their repertoire. I support this, only if you have a content marketplace, whether it is online where clients can see (not the end-user) or via the phone or both. I liked it.

Online book clubs. Tutoring, mentor tools. Others: Secure – always has existed since SaaS has been available online – which is more than 13 years. Training – common includes online webinars, walkthroughs and tutorials, sadly sometimes vendors charge for online support. Virtual printer.

Here is a secret – anyone could have built a micro course from the days that online learning was launched in the late 90’s. Mentoring/Coaching – Plenty to hear. Cornerstone and SumTotal Learn were present and accounted for. ” Very nice approach to doing the mentoring. Mini-review coming in July.
