I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Social Learning – must have social learning functionality beyond just the standards FB like page, microblog, RSS feed, upload video, follow me thing, these are systems that either advertise themselves as SLMSs or have a significant strong set of SL features.

Features that I love include the video component, i.e. video courses and not just sticking video into your course, learners can share and send courses, social, classroom management and mobile. The user interface is slick – way better than the days of Plateau – which some people still call it – uh, its not.

No one has every bit of next generation functionality that I cite or note on social media an elsewhere. . Content curation, ask an expert, gamification including reward center, social engagement across the realm slide nicely in. Social driven too. Social is getting better – new capabilities coming by end of Q4.

But, they do use modules (so you can buy learning for example, and then down the road or at the same time performance and so forth). . I say this, and you can see it yourself, buy seeing all the modules available. Talk to many of them privately and they will say that most folks buy two modules out of the gate. Social sure?
