For example, Captivate, Flash, ToolBook, Storyline, etc. So, the moral of the story is let your SMEs know up front about the development tools you will use and what deliverables can and will be provided. So, here is the deal: Most courses are developed with tools that are not PowerPoint. Feel free to add your comments and opinions.

Over the years, I have used ToolBook, Trainersoft, and even Dreamweaver with Coursebuilder. Granted, many authoring tools provide a great deal of ease when adding content, navigation and quizzes, but the interactions they include within these tools are limited.

Be Wary of Authoring Tool Comparisons

This authoring tool was Toolbook, and I believe it was version 9. Based on that, you might think that I would be qualified to at least offer my opinion with a comparison between Toolbook and Captivate, but I feel differently. I’ve not actively used Toolbook in many years. I presently use the current release of Captivate.
