CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Then comes along AOL (did you know folks still have an AOL e-mail account? I used them).

LMS Vendors: U Can Survive – Innovate, Invigorate and Invent

Majority of employees access a LMS or Learning Portal out of the workplace. Now, why doesn’t a vendor mention this information to a potential client, at least the first point – I can understand holding off on the second point, for selling purposes. Greater than 90% send out links to information.

Let’s take a brief look at a couple of recent moves: Taleo acquires Learn.com. While I cannot say who they are, there are a couple LMS vendors that are ripe for acquisition, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see them in new hands by Q2 2011. It identifies those who offer trials and provides additional information.

User Friendly or Hype?

Vendors nowadays provide training early on after you get the product, and then assume that the person will remember everything weeks later. If not, they have a user guide – which is sometimes so lengthy or missing key information, that the person is left guessing. FAQs or Knowledge Bases often lack information or confusing.
