While I cannot say who they are, there are a couple LMS vendors that are ripe for acquisition, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see them in new hands by Q2 2011. It identifies those who offer trials and provides additional information.

Vendors nowadays provide training early on after you get the product, and then assume that the person will remember everything weeks later. Plateau Talent Management System. Melon Lite LMS. Totara LMS. Meridan KSI. NetSmart University. Operitel LearnFlex. SAP’s LMS. Avilar WebMentor LMS. This is just a very tiny list.

Some vendors will tell you they cannot give you a price point. Ask them if they will provide a sandbox (trial) with full access if they are in the top three. There are plenty of vendors who say they offer mobile, but really want they are saying is you can view the system via your mobile web browser. That is totally bogus.
