Then I went on to show about 12 tools in more detail – some of which would probably make it onto a top ten list (Flash, Captivate, Articulate, and Lectora) – the remaining tools trying to hit at some of the other options out there (Smart Builder, eXe, Udutu, Thinking Worlds, Raptivity, Flypaper, Mohive, and Atlantic Link). Rapid Intake (now Litmos Author) had this ability more than four years ago. Lectora Online is solid but really not anywhere near the Inspire (desktop product) which is a real shame. Lectora needs a change, a new attitude if you will, and with a new CEO on board, I think it is going to happen. . Want a stunner?

An alarming rate of “get the content up now, ASAP&# regardless of what it looks like, instructional design is typically tossed out the window, especially when the ID, CD or whomever is tasked to create is handed a stream of documents in Word or PPT or some other form.
